Veterans Services Officer

 

Jeff’s military career includes:

  • 1976 – Jeff enlisted in the U.S. Air Force as an Law Enforcement Specialist and was assigned to Maxwell AFB, AL

  • 1980 – Graduated from Troy State University with a B.S. in Criminal Justice and was transferred to Tempelhof Central Airport in West Berlin, Germany, where he was a police investigator.

  • 1982 – Separated from the Air Force (Staff Sergeant). Jeff met his wife Debbie, who was an Air Force Electronic Intelligence Specialist, while stationed together in West Berlin. Debbie was transferred to Strategic Air Command (SAC) Headquarters at Offutt AFB, NE.

  • 1984 – Deputy Sheriff in Nebraska and graduated from the University of Nebraska at Omaha with a M.S. in Public Administration.

  • 1984 – Investigator with the Air Force Office of Special Investigations (OSI) (active reserve).

  • 1987 – Attended Air Force Officer Training School and was assigned to Alzey Air Station, West Germany, as an Air Weapons Controller directing F-15 and F-16 aircraft.

  • 1990 – Reassigned to Holloman AFB, NM as an Emergency Manager.

  • 1995 – Transferred to the Air Force active reserve and was assigned to McConnell AFB, KS.

  • 1997 – Joined the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) as an investigator and was assigned to Columbus Ohio.

  • 2002 – Activated for two years after 911 to plan the base response to WMD attacks. During this activation, Jeff deployed to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia for four months in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

  • 2008 – Retired from the Air Force Reserve (Major).

  • 2011 – Promoted to Group Supervisor with DEA and was assigned to London KY.

  • 2015 – Selected as the Regional Manager for DEA’s Far East Region headquartered in Bangkok, Thailand.

  • 2020 – Returned to the U.S., retired from DEA and moved to Crossville, TN.

  • 2023 – Court & Transport Officer, Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office.

Jeff volunteered with the Crossville Civil Air Patrol squadron for two years and is an active Veterans Administration volunteer van driver for veteran’s medical transportation.

Awards & decorations include two Meritorious Service Medals, three Commendation Medals,
one Army Occupation Medal, one Achievement Award, and five “Top Gun” marksmanship
awards.

Jeff and his wife Debbie have two sons. Aaron is an instructor Blackhawk pilot (WO3) in the U.S. Army stationed in Schofield Barracks, Oahu, HI. Jacob is a Program Engineer (Capt) in the U.S. Space Force stationed at Kirtland AFB, Albuquerque, NM.
