𝐂𝐮𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐲 𝐕𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐠𝐧𝐢𝐳𝐞𝐝 𝐚𝐭 𝐆𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐨𝐫'𝐬 𝐕𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐞𝐫 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐬 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐬
Each year, volunteers across the state are honored through Volunteer Tennessee’s Governor’s Volunteer Stars Awards. The GVSA recognizes Tennessee’s exceptional volunteers who are making a lasting impact in their communities through volunteering and community service.
Carolyn Jozwiak was selected as the adult honoree for Cumberland County. Carolyn has made Cumberland County her home for over 20 years, and has donated countless hours to many different organizations including the Cumberland County Master Gardeners, Downtown Crossville, Inc., the Crossville Depot, and the Veterans Memorial Park in downtown Crossville. Her favorite project is placing seasonal décor in the downtown area for the fall and Christmas seasons, and helping organize the annual Christmas tree lighting. Carolyn’s dedication to our community and commitment to making a positive impact shine through in her ability to uncover and adapt to the unique needs of each organization while bringing people together to work towards a common goal.
Seth Troglin was selected as the youth honoree for Cumberland County. Seth is a student at Cumberland County High School and enjoys serving the community through his school’s chapter of Future Farmers of America. Seth has contributed hundreds of volunteer hours to agricultural education and community service projects. Seth’s most impactful project was organizing, promoting, and leading the Spread the Light livestock show. This event was inspired by his desire to create inclusive opportunities for youth with special needs. The show allowed participants to experience the joy of showing livestock, and transformed an idea into a new community tradition at the Cumberland County fair. Seth’s commitment, leadership, and volunteerism go beyond mere participation and exceed expectations. The Spread the Light livestock show unites the community and fosters belonging, inclusivity, and engagement. Seth’s empathy and determination have left a lasting impact on Cumberland County, exemplifying the spirit of volunteerism.
