THE COUNTY CLERK’S OFFICE HAS BEEN PERMANENTLY RELOCATED TO 1760 S. MAIN ST (FORMER PROGRESSIVE SAVINGS BANK)

THE VETERANS SERVICES OFFICE HAS BEEN TEMPORARILY RELOCATED ACROSS THE STREET TO THE REAR OF THE MILO LEMMERT BUILDING AT 2 SOUTH MAIN STREET.

THE REGISTER OF DEEDS, COUNTY MAYOR’S OFFICE, AND FINANCE DEPARTMENT ARE STILL OPERATING AT 2 NORTH MAIN STREET. THE FINANCE DEPARTMENT CAN BE FOUND ON THE THIRD FLOOR, AND THE REGISTER OF DEEDS AND COUNTY MAYOR’S OFFICES CAN BE FOUND IN THE FRONT OF THE SECOND FLOOR, IN THE SPACE FORMERLY OCCUPIED BY THE COUNTY CLERK. ENTRY CAN BE MADE IN THE FRONT FACING MAIN STREET OR THE FRONT SIDE DOORS.

Cumberland County EMS had the honor of recognizing three members of the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office for their extraordinary actions that helped save the life of a local resident following a traumatic chainsaw accident.

Deputy Josh Alderman, Deputy Chris Page, and Sergeant Ryan Ashburn were presented with
lifesaving awards after their quick response and decisive actions prevented a tragic outcome
during a recent emergency call involving a severe arterial bleed.

According to officials, the patient sustained a serious injury from a chainsaw accident that
resulted in life-threatening bleeding. Deputies arrived on scene prior to EMS and immediately
began providing emergency medical care. Utilizing medical equipment carried in their patrol
vehicles, the deputies were able to control the bleeding before EMS crews arrived on scene.
Their rapid intervention is credited with saving the patient’s life.

Sergeant Ryan Ashburn and Deputy Chris Page both hold Emergency Medical Responder
certifications, and their medical training, combined with the preparedness and teamwork
displayed by all three deputies, proved critical during the emergency.

Cumberland County EMS Director Chris Miller stated that the actions of these deputies
demonstrate the importance of interagency cooperation, training, and preparedness in
emergency situations. He noted that the ability for law enforcement officers to begin lifesaving
care in those first critical moments can make all the difference in patient outcomes.
