Allen Foster

Thank you for visiting the official Cumberland County Government website. It is truly an honor to serve as the Cumberland County Mayor. I started my work as a public servant back in 2002 as an elected member of the Board of Education (BOE). I served one term on the BOE and decided not to seek an additional term. In 2010 I ran for and won a seat on the County Commission and was reelected in 2014. In 2018 I was elected to be your Cumberland County Mayor.

The success of Cumberland County is personal to me. That is why I served our county on the Board of Education and as a County Commissioner. Too often those in leadership believe their position gives them the authority to dictate to the public. I believe that government was created by the people and that the power it holds comes directly from those served. I believe leadership is a job of service to those that elect the leaders. We need to be able to trust that our elected officials will show up, work hard, return calls and emails, and make decisions based on research and input.
