2020 GRAMMY-NOMINATED DAVE ADKINS PLAYS THE PALACE APRIL 30.

There is no mistaking the raw and powerful vocals by singer, songwriter and guitarist Dave Adkins. His significant chart success, coupled with his stellar live performances, have made him one of most talked about artist in acoustic music. “We play hard driving soulful bluegrass, gospel, and old country music,” says Adkins. His quartet includes Joey Shann, Lee Clevenger, and Bobby Davis. Their hard work has begun to pay off; Adkins received a 2020 Grammy Award nomination for “Best Roots Gospel Album.” And that’s not all of the critical acclaim heaped on this band. In 2018 Adkins was the “Top-10 Inspirational Country Music’s Bluegrass Artist of the Year,” in 2016 his self-titled album reached #1 on the Billboard Top-10 Bluegrass Album” chart and “Top-10 Inspirational Country Music’s Bluegrass Artist of the Year.” Just to name a few in a very long list of accolades.

CBA Bluegrass Breakdown said, “Dave Adkins has one of the most powerful voices in bluegrass. He can belt out a song filled with emotion and direct to the listener as if there were no one else listening. With songwriting skills to match his vocal talents.” Adkins was born in Pikeville, Kentucky, and makes his home in Elkhorn City. When he was just eight years old, he began playing and singing and joined a band with classmates performing at schools and other venues. At 17, he began playing bluegrass music at Dollywood, where he stayed for two years. Most recently his cover of the classic country song “Country Sunday” made its debut on the Bluegrass Today Top-20 Chart at #7 in February of 2020.
